Your wallpaper bitmap may revert to the previous bitmap after daylight saving time ends if the bitmap is stored on a FAT32 partition.


Windows keeps track of the last bitmap you used for your desktop wallpaper. If an inconsistency is found in the current bitmap's date, Windows reverts to the previous saved bitmap. On FAT32 partitions, the time is not being calculated correctly; when daylight saving time changes occur, the calculated time changes on all files on FAT32 partitions.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
