SYMPTOMS

In System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager, a library refresh may fail with the following error:

There is not enough space on the disk to create C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Virtual Machine Manager\746c35cf-d5ca-45be-b744-26129afbd0d7.zip on the server.domain.com server.

Create additional disk space on the volume containing C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Virtual Machine Manager\746c35cf-d5ca-45be-b744-26129afbd0d7.zip, and then try the operation again.

ID: 2902
Details: There is not enough space on the disk (0x80070070)

CAUSE

When a library refresh is performed, any .zip files on the Library server share are copied to the %systemdrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\Virtual Machine Manager directory on the VMM server. If there is insufficient disk space on the volume containing the %systemdrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\Virtual Machine Manager directory, the library refresh will fail with the error above.

NOTE This is a one-time file copy unless the .zip file is updated.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, free additional disk space on the volume containing the %systemdrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\Virtual Machine Manager\ directory or remove the .zip files from the Library server share.
