SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install cumulative update package 3 for Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 in a Host Integration Server 2010 environment.
  • You use Enterprise Single Sign-On (ESSO).
  • The DB2 connection string is not stored for ESSO.

In this scenario, the Host Integration Server 2010 Managed Provider for DB2 fails. Additionally, you receive the following exception:
Format of the initialization string does not conform to specification starting at index 3.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Distributed Relational Database Architecture (DRDA) layer does not reset the connection string before it processes the ESSO properties.
