Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a client computer that is running a non-English version of Windows XP.
  • You install the Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 Service Pack 1 client components. To do this, you use the stand-alone MSI-based installer.

In this scenario, the installation stops responding indefinitely.

Cause

This problem occurs because, when the installer installs the driver for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Network Tunneling, the Windows logo certification dialog box is hidden from view. In this case, you cannot select the option to ignore the driver signing and continue the installation.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, install the service pack that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
2710791 Description of Service Pack 2 for Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
