Symptoms
Assume that a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) is linked to an IP address in the DNS cache of the WebIO component on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. The IP address for the FQDN is changed, and the previous IP address can no longer be used. In this scenario, the WebIO component uses its own DNS cache to resolve the FQDN. This occurs until the DNS cache expires after 10 minutes or until the Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) service restarts.
For example, assume that you use an internal network to access a OneNote document that is saved on a SharePoint site. After you switch to another network, you cannot access the OneNote document until the DNS cache expires or until the WebDAV service restarts.
Resolution
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
