SYMPTOMS

When you use an MPEG file as a source and you have ULead MediaStudio Pro software installed on your computer, you may receive the following error message:
One or more codecs required to open this media could not be found. (0xC00D1B83)

CAUSE

When you install the ULead software after you install the Encoder, the ULead software takes "ownership" of some of the Encoder decompression codecs. The Encoder is then unable to decode the MPEG files properly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, uninstall (remove) the MediaStudio Pro software.

STATUS

This problem occurs when you use Microsoft Windows Media Encoder version 7.0 and ULead MediaStudio Pro version 6.0.
