SYMPTOMS

When you create a presentation using slide transition effects, and you save your presentation as a movie, slide animations or highlight effects are turned off, even though the Show animations and Show hyperlinks check boxes are selected in the Save As dialog box.

CAUSE

When you save your presentation as a PowerPoint Movie using Slide Transitions, the slide transitions are automatically turned into QuickTime transitions, which turns off animations and highlights in the PowerPoint Movie.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. On the Slide Show menu, click Slide Transitions.
  2. Select the transition effect that you want, and then click Apply.
  3. On the File menu, click Save As.
  4. In the Format box, select PowerPoint Movie, and then click Options.
  5. Click to clear the Show animations and Show hyperlinks check boxes, and then click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
