Issues that this hotfix rollup resolves

Issue 1: Error code 0x80070002 in the CoCreateInstance function when you try to enable the registry-free COM components

Consider the following scenario. You have a computer that is running the Microsoft .NET Framework 4. You try to enable the registry-free COM components from an assembly that has a long name or that contains long type names. In this scenario, you receive error code 0x80070002 in the CoCreateInstance function.
Issue 2: A 64-bit mixed mode application throws an out-of-memory error

Assume that you have a computer that is running the Microsoft .NET Framework 4. When you run a 64-bit mixed mode application that calls a large document or data element, you receive an out-of-memory error. For example, you receive an out-of-memory error if the application calls a document or data element that is  2 gigabytes (GB).

After you install the hotfix rollup, you must enable the hotfix by using the following code to update the runtime configuration of the effected applications in the app.exe.config file:
<runtime>
<ReserveMemoryForJumpStubs enabled="true"/>
</runtime>
