SYMPTOMS

Consider that you use Internet Explorer 9 to open a Microsoft Office file. For example, you open a Microsoft Access database, a Microsoft Word document, or a Microsoft Excel workbook. In this scenario, the file opens in the related application as expected. However, you see that the Information bar of Internet Explorer 9 shows the Retry or Cancel prompt. If you close the Office application and then click Cancel on the Information bar, the Office file is deleted unexpectedly.

Note This problem does not occur in earlier versions of Internet Explorer.
