FIX: Selection of a Text Column From Keyset Cursor Defined as Join Might Cause Access Violation

A handled access violation might occur under the following conditions:

• A text column is selected from a keyset cursor.
• The cursor is based on a join of two tables.
• Both tables have a unique index.

This exception error is reported in the SQL Server errorlog and the client connection is disconnected.

Use a cursor type other than keyset.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 6.5. This problem has been corrected in the Post Service Pack 5a Update for Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5. To install the Post Service Pack 5a Update, you must have either SQL Server 6.5 SP5 or SP5a installed.
