SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Dynamics CRM, a user can freely specify a Country/Region code for an account. However, in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009, the corresponding field is a lookup value. If the user-specified value is not in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV lookup values, an integration failure occurs if you integrate Microsoft Dynamics CRM with Microsoft Dynamics NAV by using the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics. This problem occurs in the following products:
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Service Pack 1

RESOLUTION

This hotfix makes the Country/Region table available to the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics version 2 rollup 1 and later versions.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 service pack or the next Microsoft Dynamics NAV version that contains this hotfix.

Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Technical Support Professional for Microsoft Dynamics and related products determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.

We recommend that the user account in the Windows Logins window or in the Database Logins window be assigned the "SUPER" role ID. If the user account cannot be assigned the "SUPER" role ID, you must verify that the user account has the following permissions:
  • The Modify permission for the object that you will be changing.
  • The Execute permission for the System Object ID 5210 object and for the System Object ID 9015 object.

Note You do not have to have rights to the data stores unless you have to perform data repair.

Code changes

Note Always test code fixes in a controlled environment before you apply the fixes to your production computers.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Change the code in the EnableConnector function in the Integration Management codeunit (5150) as follows:
    Existing code
    ...
    SetupWebServicePages(FORM::"Contact Card",DATABASE::Contact);
    SetupWebServicePages(FORM::"Currency Exchange Rates",DATABASE::"Currency Exchange Rate");
    SetupWebServicePages(FORM::"Customer Disc. Groups",DATABASE::"Customer Discount Group");
    SetupWebServicePages(FORM::"Item Disc. Groups",DATABASE::"Item Discount Group");

    SetupIntegrationService;
    END;

    MarkDeletedIntegrationRecords;
    SetupIntegrationTables;
    ...

    Replacement code
    ...
    SetupWebServicePages(FORM::"Contact Card",DATABASE::Contact);
    SetupWebServicePages(FORM::"Currency Exchange Rates",DATABASE::"Currency Exchange Rate");
    SetupWebServicePages(FORM::"Customer Disc. Groups",DATABASE::"Customer Discount Group");
    SetupWebServicePages(FORM::"Item Disc. Groups",DATABASE::"Item Discount Group");

    // Add the following line.
    SetupWebServicePages(FORM::"Countries/Regions",DATABASE::"Country/Region");

    SetupIntegrationService;
    END;

    MarkDeletedIntegrationRecords;
    SetupIntegrationTables;
    ...

  2. Change the code in the SetupIntegrationTables function in the Integration Management codeunit (5150) as follows:
    Existing code
    ...
    InitializeIntegrationRecords(DATABASE::Contact);
    InitializeIntegrationRecords(DATABASE::"Currency Exchange Rate");
    InitializeIntegrationRecords(DATABASE::"Customer Discount Group");
    InitializeIntegrationRecords(DATABASE::"Item Discount Group");
    ...

    Replacement code
    ...
    InitializeIntegrationRecords(DATABASE::Contact);
    InitializeIntegrationRecords(DATABASE::"Currency Exchange Rate");
    InitializeIntegrationRecords(DATABASE::"Customer Discount Group");
    InitializeIntegrationRecords(DATABASE::"Item Discount Group");

    // Add the following line.
    InitializeIntegrationRecords(DATABASE::"Country/Region");

    ...

  3. Change the code in the IsIntegrationRecord function in the Integration Management codeunit (5150) as follows:
    Existing code
    ...
    DATABASE::Contact,
    DATABASE::"Currency Exchange Rate",
    DATABASE::"Customer Discount Group",

    // Delete the folloiwng line.
    DATABASE::"Item Discount Group"]

    THEN
    EXIT(TRUE);

    EXIT(FALSE);
    ...

    Replacement code
    ...
    DATABASE::Contact,
    DATABASE::"Currency Exchange Rate",
    DATABASE::"Customer Discount Group",

    // Add the following lines.
    DATABASE::"Item Discount Group",
    DATABASE::"Country/Region"]
    // End of the lines.

    THEN
    EXIT(TRUE);

    EXIT(FALSE);
    ...

After you have applied the code changes, follow these steps to make the Country/Region values available to the Connector:
  1. Have all users log off from Microsoft Dynamics NAV and close their clients.
  2. Stop the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Business web service and the Microsoft Dynamics NAV server.
  3. Click to clear the Enable Connector check box on the Synchronization tab in the Marketing Setup Card dialog box in the Classic client in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
  4. Restart the Classic client.
  5. Click to select the Enable Connector check box on the Synchronization tab in the Marketing Setup Card dialog box in Microsoft Dynamics NAV and then follow the prompts.
  6. Restart the Microsoft Dynamics NAV server and the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Business web service.
