Windows Me to Windows 2000 Upgrade Is Not Supported

SUMMARY

Upgrading Windows Millennium Edition (Me) to Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional has not been tested for full feature functionality and is not a supported upgrade path.

MORE INFORMATION

A supported upgrade path from Windows Me to Windows 2000 is not available because Windows 2000 was released before Windows Me, and upgrade capabilities were not included. With many core changes such as the registry split, the removal of real-mode support, and new features such as Microsoft Windows Movie Maker and System Restore, Windows Me is not a candidate for upgrading to Windows 2000.
