RESOLUTION

Note Close all the browser windows, and then restart the browser and visit MSN Money. See whether this resolves the problem.

Examine the MSN Money Network Status for any known site or server events. To do this, visit the following MSN Web site:
http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/common/networkstatus.aspx (http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/common/networkstatus.aspx)
Make a backup of your current data, and then move the local file so that a new file can be created from the data that is stored on the server. To do this, follow these steps:
1.In the Portfolio under Other Tasks, click More, click File options, and then click Back up.
2.Find and move the local data file.
For more information about how to find and move the local data files, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

3.Access the Portfolio, verify that you can save make changes to this new file, and then save the file to the server. If you cannot save the new file to the server, there may be something on this system that is blocking the Portfolio's communication with the MSN Money servers. Antivirus, firewall, or Internet Security software could be blocking the Portfolio's communication with the MSN Money servers.

Note If the Portfolio has not successfully saved to the MSN Money servers in the past 90 days, the MSN Money servers will force an update of the local file. Most likely, the local file will now show old data.
You can restore a backup file with more current data and verify that the Portfolio can now successfully save to the server. For example, you can restore a backup file like the backup file that you made in step 1 with more current data. If the backup file fails, the file may be damaged. You can try to repair the backup file by using the File Repair tools that are available in Microsoft Money 2006. To obtain the trial version of Money 2006, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/d/f/1df523d3-d859-49cd-a366-0dab77b16e39/webinst.exe (http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/d/f/1df523d3-d859-49cd-a366-0dab77b16e39/webinst.exe)
Note Microsoft Money 2007 is incompatible with the MSN Money Portfolio. Therefore, if you open your Portfolio file in Money 2007, you will be unable to use that converted file on MSN Money.

If the repairs report no problems and the backup file will not correctly restore in MSN Money's Portfolio, use Money 2006 or an earlier version of Money to upload the data to the MSN Money servers. Money 2007 is incompatible with MSN Money Portfolio. To do this, follow these steps:
1.Start Money, and then open or restore the backup file.
2.Make sure that Money is using the same Microsoft Passport Network credentials that you use in MSN Money's Portfolio. To change the Passport Network credentials, click File, and then click Password Manager.
3.Enable synching with the MSN Money servers. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Click Tools.
b. Click Settings.
c. Click Access Money on the Web.
4.If you are prompted to choose between the data that is already on the MSN Money servers and the data in this Money file, choose the data in the Money file.
If you have problems completing these steps, see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
