When you attempt to view a certificate chain, the client computer may time out if the Certificate Authority (CA) is not available. If the certificate is a smart card, the computer may stop responding (hang).
CAUSE
The Schannel.dll dynamic-link library (DLL) does not cache the server certificate chain after it is built. If the connection to the CA is lost, the client computer times out or hangs.
