This article describes how to enable or disable the Standby mode on a computer that has Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) installed on it.
To manually put your computer in the Standby mode, use one of the following three methods:
NOTE: To put your computer in the Standby mode, your must have a computer that is set up by the manufacturer to support the standby power option.
Method 1: At Computer Shutdown (Desktop and Laptop)
Method 2: Press Power Button (Desktop and Laptop)To use the Power button to place your computer in the Standby mode, follow these steps:
Method 3: Close the Lid (Laptop)To place your computer in the Standby mode by closing the lid to the computer, follow these steps:
NOTE: To disable the Standby mode or to change the power options, repeat the steps in method 2 or method 3 and select the power option that you want.
