How to install the Crime Scenes Add-in

To install the Crime Scenes add-on, follow these steps:

1.	Download the file (Crimescenes.exe) from Office Update by clicking Download Now! at the top left of the Web page and following the instructions in the dialog boxes.
2.	Specify a location for storing the file on your computer.
3.	When the download is finished, locate Crimescenes.exe in Windows Explorer, and then double-click it to start the Setup program.
4.	Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

Note If the installer cannot locate the Visio folder on your computer where it installs the Crime Scenes files, click Browse to manually locate the folder.

How to use the Crime Scenes templates and stencils

After you install the add-in, you can take advantage of the features included in the Microsoft Visio Crime Scenes solution by starting Visio, and then opening the Crime Scenes solution.

1.	Start Visio.
2.	On the File menu, point to New, point to Crime Scenes, and then open the template that you want.

Tip For best results, always start a new crime scenes diagram by opening one of the Crime Scenes templates as described in step 2.

How to remove the Crime Scenes Add-in

1.	Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2.	In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3.	In the list of programs on the Install/Uninstall tab, find Crime Scenes, and then click it. Click Add/Remove, and then click Remove All.
4.	Follow the instructions on the screen to remove the add-in.
