SYMPTOMS
When you set up a merge replication publication between a Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 Publisher and a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Distributor, the list of custom resolvers for the publication is blank.
CAUSE
When enumerating custom resolvers on the distributor, SQL Server version 7.0 attempts to access a registry key on the SQL Server 2000 Distributor that does not exist.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 7.0. This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 3 for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 274799
