FIX: "The application’s digital signature has an error. Do you want to run the application?" error message when you try to log on to a Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 trunk

Symptoms

When you log on to a Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 trunk by using a web browser other than Internet Explorer, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
The application’s digital signature has an error. Do you want to run the application?

For example, this issue may occur when you log on by using Mozilla Firefox.

Cause

This issue may occur because the digital signature of the Java-based component on the client expired.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, install the service pack that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
2710791 Description of Service Pack 2 for Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010

Workaround

To work around this issue, click Yes in the error message to run the application. The error message is informational only and can be safely ignored.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
