FIX: Mtxoci Incorrectly Generates "ORA-000" Error Messages

This article was previously published under Q275158

SYMPTOMS

When an Oracle connection is enlisted with Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator, it may not work either because of Oracle or because of Distributed Transaction Coordinator. Mtxoci does not return error codes to distinguish between the two. This causes "ORA-000" error messages to be printed when enlistments do not work because of Distributed Transaction Coordinator issues.

CAUSE

Mtxoci now returns two new error codes if an enlistment does not work because of Distributed Transaction Coordinator issues. The ODBC driver makes use of these error codes to avoid generating the "ORA-000" error message.
