"Sorry, something went wrong" error message when you run a query in SharePoint Server 2013

Assume that you run a query that contains opening quotation marks (") but does not contain closing quotation marks in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013. In this situation, the query returns no results, and you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Sorry, something went wrong.
An unexpected error has occurred.
Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation.

Date and Time:


This issue occurs because the Keyword Query Language (KQL) parser ignores the part of the query after the opening quotation marks.
