FIX: RECEIVE_AND_WAIT verb returns "0x9" return code in an APPC application in Host Integration Server 2010Article ID: 2754508 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSymptomsAssume that you have an Advanced Program-to-Program Communications (APPC) application in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010. When the RECEIVE_AND_WAIT verb is successfully completed, the APPC application should receive a return code of 0x0. However, the RECEIVE_AND_WAIT verb may return a 0x9 return code. When this occurs, the incorrect return code may cause application failures. CauseThis issue occurs because the APPC library (Wappc32.dll) in Host Integration Server 2010 loads the Unicode version of the APPC string library (Appcstr.dll) instead of the ANSI version. ResolutionTo resolve this problem, apply either the cumulative update or the hotfix that is mentioned in this article. Cumulative update informationThe fix that resolves this issue is included in cumulative update package 6 for Host Integration Server 2010.
