Symptoms

Assume that you use Group Policy to change the default file location in Microsoft Word 2013. For example, you change the default file location to C:\Users\User Name\Desktop. When you open or save a file in Word 2013, the default file location in the File Open or File Save dialog box is C:\Users\User Name.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, make sure that the default file location in the Group Policy setting ends with a backslash (\). For example, set the default file location to C:\Users\User Name\Desktop\.
