SUMMARY

When you upgrade to Microsoft Windows 2000, you may encounter upgrade-related problems with the Visual InterDev 6.0 development environment or with existing Web applications that were created with Visual InterDev 6.0.

This article compiles a list of resources that address known upgrade problems for Visual InterDev 6.0. This article also provides information on how to upgrade Active Server Pages (ASP) applications to Windows 2000.

MORE INFORMATION

Upgrade problems may be related to the initial installation and configuration, which may involve Visual InterDev or apply to other operating systems as well as Windows 2000.

Visual InterDev

The following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles describe Visual InterDev-related problems and are divided into four categories:
  • Installing Visual InterDev
  • Configuring Visual InterDev and Connecting to a Web Server

Web Applications and ASP Pages

You may also encounter problems in your existing applications when you upgrade to Windows 2000. Most applications that run on Microsoft Windows NT also run on Windows 2000 without error. However, because of some configuration and security issues in the Windows 2000 upgrade, an existing application may not work. Upgrade-related problems can affect ASP pages that are created with Visual InterDev and WebClass applications or COM components that are built in Microsoft Visual Basic and accessed from an ASP page as part of an application.
