SYMPTOMS

The Exchange 2000 Server Information Store service may respond sluggishly and may consume anywhere from 90 to 100 percent of CPU time. Clients may also stop responding (the cursor is displayed as an hourglass). Outstanding remote procedure call (RPC) requests to the information store are consistently high during this time.

The sluggish performance continues during high load time. The Information Store service recovers after the load is reduced.
