Issues

If you activate Windows 7 after installation without the child version, the product key becomes invalid or 0xc004f061 error occurs.



Cause

Such issue may occur if you install Windows 7 before installing the child version.



Solution

Step 1: Change the MediaBootInstall value from the Registry Editor

  1. Click [Begin]

    and enter regedit in the search box. At the top of the search results, enter [regedit].

    When the User Account Control message appears, enter the administrator password or click [Yes].

  2. From the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\OOBE . Double click on the [MediaBootInstall] from the right screen.

  3. From the Edit DWORD(32 bit) Value screen, change the value data to 0 and click [Next].

  4. Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.



Step 2: Run slmgr -rearm in CMD

  1. Click [Begin]

  2. From the program list at the top, right click [cmd] and select [Run as Administrator].

    When the User Account Control message appears, enter the administrator password or click [Yes].

  3. From the Command Prompt screen, type slmgr -rearm and press Enter.

    When the Windows Script Host message appears, click [Next].

  4. Close the command prompt and restart the computer.



Step 3: Run slui 3 in CMD

  1. Click [Begin]
