XADM: Invalid Property Value in Public Folder Message Can Crash the Information Store

SYMPTOMS

In Exchange 2000, if a message in a public folder has an invalid value of zero for the PR_RTF_COMPRESSED property, it can cause heap corruption in the information store, causing abnormal termination of the service.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS
