SYMPTOMS

When you invoke the Invalid Character Ranges dialog box for non-XML document specifications that are loaded into the Microsoft BizTalk Editor (from the View menu, click Invalid Character Map), you cannot add, edit, or delete character ranges.

When you single click in the Invalid start range or Invalid end range drop-down list box, nothing happens. Instead, you must click the New Character Range icon. Alternately, you can press the TAB key to set the focus to the New Character Range icon, and then press the SPACEBAR to invoke the Enter Invalid Character Range dialog box.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because you can only block character ranges for non-XML specifications.
