UE-V PowerShell cmdlets fail on a Windows Server 2008 R2 system

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

You have Windows PowerShell version 2 and .NET Framework 4.0 installed on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2.
At the command prompt, you run the Get-UevTemplate command from Microsoft User Experience Virtualization (UE-V) to retrieve a list of templates.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

Get-UevTemplate : The type initializer for 'Microsoft.Uev.Commands.TemplateHelpers' threw an exception.
At line:1 char:23
+ Get-UevTemplate <<<<
+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Unregister-UevTemplate], TypeInitializationException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : System.TypeInitializationException,Microsoft.Uev.Commands.GetUevTemplateCommand

Cause

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is required for UE-V 1.0.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, install .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 on the Windows Server 2008 R2 system.
