Symptoms

In a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2009 or Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010 environment, the SnaBase service may stop unexpectedly because of an access violation that can occur when a TCP/IP connection is closed. Additionally, an event message that resembles the following may be logged in the Application log when the access violation occurs:

The problem can occur when a Host Integration Server is logging a large number of Event 705 warnings to indicate logon failures when users are trying to connect to the Host Integration Server to access an IBM host application.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, apply the cumulative update or the hotfix that is mentioned in this article.
