"Use Wireless Link to Transfer Images" Check Box Is Cleared by Default, but the Feature Does Not Respond Correctly

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Wireless Link tool in Control Panel and click the Image Transfer tab, the Use Wireless Link to transfer images from a digital camera to your computer check box is cleared by default, but you can still transfer images successfully.

RESOLUTION

To enable this feature so that it responds correctly, click to select, click to clear, and then click to select the Use Wireless Link to transfer images from a digital camera to your computer check box again.

In Windows 98 and Windows Me, image transfer (IrTran-P) was the default Infrared transfer protocol. In Windows XP, the default transfer protocols are IrCOMM and IrNET".

Various 3rd party IR sychronization sofware applications may disable IrTran-P. If the "Enable Image Transfer" setting is grayed out and cannot be selected, uninstall the synchronization software.
