SYMPTOMS
When you use the RDS.DataControl object to return data by using Remote Data Service (RDS), you may receive the following error message:
Unexpected error. (0x80070005)
CAUSE
RDS relies on the following registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W3SVC\Parameters\ADCLaunch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W3SVC\Parameters\ADCLaunch\RDSServer.DataFactory RESOLUTIONWARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve
problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk. To resolve the error, perform the following steps:
