or Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, and you then save the presentation as a
PowerPoint 97-2002 & 95 Presentation (*.ppt) file, some of the slide
transitions may not appear as expected when the presentation is viewed in
PowerPoint 2000. In PowerPoint 97 or 2000, when you click Slide Transition on the Slide Show menu, nothing appears in the Effect list box even though a transition was added to this slide in PowerPoint 2002. In PowerPoint for Windows 95, No Transition appears in the Effect list box. CAUSE This behavior can occur when you use slide transitions in
the presentation that are not available to PowerPoint versions earlier than
PowerPoint 2002. When you save the presentation as a PowerPoint 97-2002 & 95 Presentation (*.ppt) file, a confirmation message appears warning you that the presentation may contain features that are not compatible with earlier versions of PowerPoint. If you click Help on the confirmation message and then view the features that are affected, slide transitions are not specifically mentioned, but Animation effects are described as either converted or not appearing in the earlier versions of PowerPoint. RESOLUTION To work around this issue, add a transition that is
available in the PowerPoint version that you are using to view the
presentation. In PowerPoint 97 and 2000, follow these steps:
