SYMPTOMS

Permanent event consumers may not receive notifications from Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) if they request modification events on dynamic instances from an out-of-process provider.

How to Obtain the Latest Windows 2000 Service Pack

The English-language version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:

How to Use the Hotfix Installer

NOTE: You can use this method for only Intel-based computers with Windows 2000 installed.

Copy the Q278941.exe hotfix file to a local folder on your computer or to a share on your network.
Run the Q278941.exe file and follow the directions.
Restart your computer.
