ENT2001: Error Message That You Cannot Rebuild Your Entourage Database

SYMPTOMS

When you try to rebuild your Entourage database, you may receive the following error message:

To rebuild this database, quit all other Microsoft Office programs and then try again.

You receive this error message even if you are not running any other Microsoft Office 2001 for Macintosh programs.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the QuickView Control Strip has the Reminder option turned on.

To resolve this behavior, turn off the Reminder option in the QuickView Control Strip, and then try to rebuild your database. To turn off the Reminder option, click the Office QuickView icon on the Macintosh Control Strip, and then click Turn Reminders Off.

To turn on the Reminder option after you rebuild your database, click the Office QuickView icon on the Macintosh Control strip, and then click Turn Reminders On. The QuickView icon is identified as four multi-colored puzzle pieces.
