FIX: VSS Does Not Provide Feedback That It Is Working While It Deletes Projects

SYMPTOMS

When you delete a large project in Visual SourceSafe, the graphical user interface (GUI) may appear to hang. If you end the Visual SourceSafe process unexpectedly, the result can be database corruption.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This bug was corrected in the latest service pack for Visual Studio 6.0.
