Symptoms

Assume that you run an application on a Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Windows Server 2008 SP2-based computer to access a network share. Additionally, assume that the application accesses the network share by using the Server Message Block 2.0 (SMB 2.0) client redirector. In this situation, the computer freezes.

Cause

This issue occurs because of an issue in the MID window on the SMB client that causes the redirector to freeze.
