Symptoms

Assume that you create some business rules for an entity in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Master Data Services (MDS). Each business rule references more than one domain-based attribute on the same entity. In this situation, you receive the following error message when you try to publish the newly created business rules:

Msg 156, Level 15, State 1, Procedure udp_SYSTEM_X_XX_CHILDATTRIBUTES_ProcessRules, Line XXX
Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'FROM'.
Msg 1038, Level 15, State 4, Procedure udp_SYSTEM_X_XX_CHILDATTRIBUTES_ProcessRules, Line XXX
An object or column name is missing or empty. For SELECT INTO statements, verify each column has a name. For other statements, look for empty alias names. Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Change the alias to a valid name.
