SYMPTOMS

When you edit a picture in the header or footer of grouped worksheets, the picture may not be added to all of the worksheet headers or footers in the group as expected.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the worksheets are grouped after the picture is inserted into the header or footer, even when the header or footer is further edited after the worksheets are grouped, as in the following example:
  1. You insert a picture into the header or footer of an ungrouped worksheet.
  2. You then group the sheets in the workbook, including the sheet with the inserted picture.
  3. You then edit the grouped worksheets.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, insert the picture into the header or footer after the worksheets are grouped.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
