The Windows Media Server Unicast Service may end when streaming certain files. No errors messages are logged or presented.
CAUSE
If the packet duration is anything less than 1 millisecond, then the Windows Media Server Unicast Service will end with a "divide by 0" error message when converting the packet duration from nanoseconds to milliseconds.
A combination of small packet size and large MaxBitRate can result in packet duration less than 1 millisecond. RESOLUTIONA supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.
