OL2000: A Second Initial Is Added to the Contact Name When You Create a Contact from a Global Address List

SYMPTOMS

When you try to create a contact from a global address list in Outlook 2000, an initial may be repeated in the Full Name field.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the GAL entry has initials as the first name. For example, a GAL entry with name "T K Jones" creates a contact item as "T K K Jones."

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
