When you use the Mail Merge Wizard in Microsoft Word, the recipient number on the fifth step may display only the first digit of a two-digit number.
For example, the recipient number for the 10th to the 19th records might be displayed as "1."
This problem occurs when you start the Mail Merge Wizard by using the keyboard commands ALT+T+E+M.
Note In Microsoft Office Word 2007, press ALT+M+S+W to display the Mail Merge Wizard in the work pane.
Word does not correctly update the layout of the work pane to show two-digit numbers in the Mail Merge Wizard until the work pane loses the keyboard focus.
This problem can be avoided by using the mouse to click Mail Merge Wizard. To find the Mail Merge Wizard, point to Letter and Mailings on the Tools menu.
Note In Microsoft Office Word 2007, click Start Mail Merge in the Start Mail Merge group on the Mailings tab, and then click Step by Step Mail Merge Wizard.
