No shortcut key available for the IM Address box in an Outlook contact

SYMPTOMS

When you open a new contact in Microsoft Outlook, there is no shortcut key for gaining access to the IM Address box for the contact.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, press ALT+W to go to the Web page address box, and then press the TAB key to move to the IM Address box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

You can identify a keyboard shortcut by noticing the underlined letter in the name of a box. For example, the letter "m" is underlined under Company name. When you press ALT+M, the focus moves to that box. Currently, the IM Address box has no underlined letter.
