Article ID: 280969 - Last Review: July 27, 2006 - Revision: 1.1 OL2002: The Click Sound Effect Plays Sporadically When You Navigate through Outlook folders
This article was previously published under Q280969 SYMPTOMS
When you navigate through Outlook folders, you hear the Microsoft Internet Explorer click sound effect only after you select Outlook Today or some other folder that was created in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).
CAUSE
This problem occurs because it is a result of the way Microsoft handles Universal Navigation. Once you view a Web page (including Outlook Today), Outlook starts to use the Internet Explorer Navigation Stack. After that, navigation is temporarily routed through the WebOC and causes Outlook to use the Internet Explorer sound effects for navigation.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
