OL2000: Cannot Use Preview Pane in Outlook View Control

SYMPTOMS

When you are creating a custom solution by using the Outlook View control, there is not a way to enable the preview pane in the control.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because the Outlook View control is not designed to display a separate preview pane.

To work around this problem, instead of using the preview pane, set the control to use the AutoPreview feature, which displays the first 255 characters of an e-mail message in the same pane. To do this for a view of the Inbox, set the View property of the control to "Messages with AutoPreview".
