Microsoft Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) clients may not retrieve service principle names (SPNs) from an MIT Kerberos server.
When the LDAP client makes a call for an SPN, it uses "LDAP" (in uppercase letters) instead of "ldap" (in lowercase letters). Request for Comments (RFC) 1510 defines only lowercase usage. MIT Kerberos servers that are RFC 1510-compliant are case sensitive. Therefore, requests for an SPN may not work to an MIT Kerberos server.
