Internet Explorer 10 cannot automatically install prerequisite updates if any update installation is in progress or if a system restart is pending. To check whether you have an ongoing update installation or a pending restart, follow these steps:
- Open Control Panel.
-
Click System and Security.
-
Click Windows Update.
- If an update installation is in progress, let that installation finish. If all updates are installed but a system restart is pending, restart your computer.
Then, reinstall Internet Explorer 10. If the installation process still doesn't work, try Method 2.
Tip The following updates may require a system restart after installation. However, you can safely ignore individual restart requests and just restart the system after all the updates are installed.
