Article ID: 282096 - Last Review: January 13, 2006 - Revision: 1.2 Windows XP Overwrites BeOs Boot Manager on a Multiboot System
This article was previously published under Q282096 SUMMARY
When you install Microsoft Windows XP on a computer that has BeOs installed on another drive or partition, and you are using the BeOs boot manager, Windows XP overwrites the existing boot manager with its own boot manager. Note that the last operating system that you install overwrites the existing boot manager. BeOs can still be started by using its startup floppy disk. MORE INFORMATION
In multiboot situations where multiple vendors' operating systems are being used, it is recommended that you use a third-party boot manager.
