If some members of a distribution list have distinguished names (also known as DNs) that are the same length and that include the Japanese-language double-byte character set (DBCS) characters, you may receive the following non-delivery report (NDR) when you send a message to the distribution list:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: Subject Sent: Sent_Date The following recipient(s) could not be reached: Member_DN_1 A configuration error in the recipient's e-mail system prevented delivery of this message. Two recipients are configured with the same e-mail adress. Contact your administrator. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use the single-byte character set (SBCS) for the logon name.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1.
