Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • Some Message Queuing receive locations are configured in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 or in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013.
  • The Message Queuing receive locations receive some messages from a remote transactional queue.
  • There are no messages in the queue for some time.

In this scenario, the memory that the BizTalk host process consumes increases unexpectedly.

Note This issue also occurs in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2009. We will soon release a hotfix for this issue in BizTalk Server 2009.

Cause

This issue occurs because a transaction is created every 500 milliseconds. Additionally, the transactions are not removed when there are no messages in the queue.
