SYMPTOMS

While you are monitoring an Exchange 2000 Server, you may see messages that remain in the SMTP queue that is bound for local delivery. In addition, the information store process consumes 100 percent CPU usage.

The information store process does not detect cross membership in Security Groups when it is checking security credentials. For example:
  1. Create two Security Groups, SG1 and SG2.
  2. Make SG1 a member of SG2.
  3. Make SG2 a member of SG1.
